It is always a good time to purchase some trendy clothes and boots for the cool weather seasons. Boots in particular have many new styles and are going to be very popular this winter season. They can be worn with dresses, skirts, pants and short pants to show off the ankles. The fashion season promises to be unique with many new styles from which to choose.

History of Women Boots
Women boots have been popular for the women since before the 16th century, worn by all but the poor. Of course, during the Victorian era the boots were covered by their long dresses and coats, therefore, there was not much variety in styles. Also, they were made of hard leather and it took time to break them in to the point of comfort.
If you are interested in the history of shoes and boots, a great place to visit is The Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto, Canada. Their collection of shoes number over 10,000 in their four story facility. The display begins with Chinese bound footwear to Egyptian sandals. Footwear covers a history of 4500 years and is rotated frequently, as you would probably want to visit more than once to see all this museum has to offer. There is also a collection of celebrity shoes from the 20th century.
Cowboy boots came into style after the Civil War and no one knows who designed the first pair. Men who were driving cattle across the plain with their feel in strirrups needed more protection for their feet and lower legs, plus they liked the pointed toes to get their feet into the stirrup more easily. The heels were also designed so a cowboy could dig his heels into the ground when pulling on a stubborn mule or walking on a steep trail. Styles really haven't changed that much in all these years,

OK, Pamela, I will admit it, I wouldn't normally look at a clothing hub, but I figured there would be some cute girls involved, and you didn't let me down. That blonde in the black and gray dress/boots--yes! And that hostess was as cute and funny as she could be. I almost died when she sat down in the chair and went over backwards! It does "slightly" disturb me though that these clothes and styles are being pushed not only to college girls but right down to todlers.
But, Pam, what can I can I say. I enjoyed looking! Thank you.

Pamela...I have a huge collection of boots!! Always have and always LOVE when I see a really cool pair! I really like the black high heeled one's best. The snow boots are really cool!
