Romantic Cabin Rentals for Getaway Weekend

My husband and I travel about once a year often with other family members, but we like to have an occasional weekend trip at our favorite romantic cabin rental. That way we have complete privacy and can enjoy our surroundings. I think the secret to planning a special, romantic vacation is to choose somewhere you both like to visit. You have to be of one accord for this to work. If I want the beach and he wants the mountains or NYC, then it probably isn't going to be that romantic weekend you are seeking. We prefer our vacations to be low key, without big crowds, so we typically go to the mountains and not in the summer. I especially like to see the autumn leaves, so that is when I prefer to go. Through the years we have traveled to many crowded fast paced places, and our tastes have changed, although we do enjoy a cruise occasionally.

When we go to the mountains we plan out almost everything. We make a reservation for the weekend getaway package at a cabin that we have enjoyed before, and as it has a grill and full kitchen so we take our food. Doing this should make it a cheap romantic weekend getaway, except we like to eat well. I mean, after all, you are on vacation. We bring steaks, lobster or shrimp, snacks, lots of salad products and good breakfast food also.

There are many cabins to rent all over north Georgia, and the mountains of North Carolina are also a nice choice. Every state has some type of cabin on lakes, by streams or in the mountains. If you want to take a short vacation try the Internet and if that doesn't work, call a travel agent as they are usually very helpful.

We make sure we have the right type of clothes for the temperature as the mountains are certainly cooler than northern Florida. We like to go to some of the markets in the area during the day, but the evenings are just for us. The cabin has a fireplace, a stereo, fully equipped kitchen, porch swing, TV, Jacuzzi and a comfortable bed. We make the most of all those conveniences.

Since we have been on this particular vacation before we know exactly what to expect and there is nothing to cause any conflict between us. We take turns driving and my husband does much of the cooking, which is the perfect vacation for me. He enjoys cooking and I clean up the kitchen which suits me just fine. The scenery is just breath taking and we enjoy taking walks on the many trials or just sitting on the porch swing. We also enjoy our daytime excursions as well.

When we are at the cabin we have time for long discussions and time for play. There are no phones to interrupt us and no one bothers you from the other cabins. They are a nice distance apart.

My favorite time to go is in the autumn as I love the fall leaves and cooler weather. We have been there in other seasons as well, but agree fall is the best. We have tried other cabins in other states also, and they are all wonderful. Having time together that is not interrupted by worries, family problems, chores or any concerns is special time. It renews the relationship and keeps you close just my renting a cabin for a romantic getaway weekend..
