Hairstyles for 2011 are more focused on new colors and adding feather braids then on any particular haircut styles. Whether you're hair is very short, medium or a long length you can be in style by adding some color, some feathers or maybe a combination of feathers and braids. There is a trend of using “smash colors" for a section of your hair that certainly makes a statement. I found the most unusual hair colors and styles on the various singing and movie stars. They are willing to push the limit.

There are so many shades to choose from when dying your hair it is important to stick to natural hair color and adding different complementary shades can really spruce up a hairstyle. Generally speaking it is wise to stay within two shades of your natural color. Remember if you have damaged hair before hair coloring it may be in worse condition after adding the hair color.

It certainly is easy to change the color of your hair or to change the length and style, but you want to find the most becoming color and style for you. If you want to dye your hair choose a basic shade of hair that is the most suitable for your complexion. The natural shades of hair are obviously blonde, brunette, red or black (and I guess we should mention gray).
- Blonde hair provides an energetic quality to any hairstyle but is best used for people with light complexions. There are numerous shades of blonde hair from platinum, golden to dirty blonde.
- Probably the most versatile color is brunette as there is an abundance of shades available, which match almost any skin tone.
- Red hair is the most difficult to achieve with red dyes, so natural redheads have a great advantage as red hair seems to highlight any hairstyle.
- Black hair is without any highlights or streaks, but its beauty is the black color and the shine, which provides an exotic or mysterious appearance. Dull black hair is not very attractive, so it is important to keep it shiny and reflective.
There are so many shades to choose from when dying your hair it is important to stick to natural hair color and adding different complementary shades can really spruce up a hairstyle. Generally speaking it is wise to stay within two shades of your natural color.
Remember if you have damaged hair before hair coloring it may be in worse condition after adding the hair color. Damaged hair may come from excessive brushing and tearing of the hair and too much heat, so keeping the blow dryer and curling iron on medium will help protect your hair. Sun damage which many people don't consider but wearing a hat is a good idea when it is very hot and sunny. Too many permanents and even over washing will dry out your scalp and lessen the natural oils of your head. Some medications also will adversely affect your hair.

Chalking Another New Trend
Another trend is chalking, which is done with the same type of chalk the children use on sidewalks. The advantage of using chalk is that it washes right out. If you are going out for an evening you can choose any color of chalk and streak the ends of your hair or apply long streaks, color your bangs and let your imagination be your guide. Of course, you don't want to get caught in the rain or the color will be running down your clothing.
The procedure for using chalk on your hair ir:
Fill a bowl with 1 1/4 full of warm water. Place you color choices of chalk into the bowl making sure they are covered with water. Leave them in the water for 5-15 minutes. The longer time will produce better results. The colors from the water will be vibrant.
Use a pair of plastic gloves and take the desired piece of chalk and highlight the the desired hairs. This can be on the front, sides, back or bottom of your hair. Let the chalk dry on the hair. It will wash out when you shampoo.
You can also use washable markers putting them on your hair when it is completely dry. With either product you can make the color subtle.or drastic. Scrub your hair when you shampoo to remove all the color.

I think I will leave the smash hair color and the feathers for the younger females. The Ombre coloring is quite attractive and it has become very popular. I have never even heard of chalking your hair! I will definitely try it for crazy hair day at my daughters' schools. I love that it washes out. Have you tried using washable markers? That sounds dangerous!

This is the longest it's been for over 4 years now for the summer months I get a military style flattop. I get a lot of women for 40-60 wanting to know where I get it cut. Big earrings,Jewelry,and Makeup and a little attitude. I think any women our age will look great with a flattop hair. I love it. The men love it also. Pamela99 it looks you could pull off a Flattop by your picture and look super sexy, you should try one. Best haircut I have ever had, I get at least 8 compliments a week. I would love to the no work aspect but not sure my husband would like it as he has commented more than once about me getting my hair cut too short. I might do in anyway! Pamena99, I completely understand, my husand was the same way. I had a bobcut before my flattop. I never dreamed of getting a flattop. One day I saw a women while out shopping, she looked amazing she was coming out of a barbershop while I was walking by. I thought now thats a haircut I could use while working in my garden in the summer.Two months later on my 50th I had it cut. My huband changed his mind very fast now he tells me I need a trim all the time.
I was stop, today in a restroom by a women about 2 hours ago. when my husband and I were at a book store. She's like, what's the name of your haircut and where do you get it cut,so I told her,she said I need a good short cut and I just love your look and hair. I was like, thank you very much.
I think people don't want women to get flattops because then they can't sell us $100.00 haircuts and products. I get stop more now than ever before,people asking about my hair. I just thought you have the perfect face shape for a flattop. I would bet anything if you ever got one you would be a knock out. I love your hubs Thanks

Hi Pamela99 and Susan54, I just came acrossed your comments to each other today. I just have to laugh, Deja Vu for me. My Husband and I are retired and we spend our summers in the poconos Pa, and our winters in the Sebring Fl area(we are RV people). Well to make a long story somewhat short. We got to Florida about the first week of Nov and last year. We met Bob And Mary,from Ohoi about 3 weeks after arriving. Who now have become very good friends. Well Bob and Mary both wear flattop haircuts.I must say being 5' 100 lbs Mary wears the flattop well, VERY CHIC! They say they are good travel haircuts(very low maintenance). They cut each others hair to save time and money.
Mary from the time we met. Mary would ask me, if she could cut my hair into a flattop and each time, we would be together,(everyday) do you know how great you would look with your gray hair in a Flattop. I would say not today. I like my pixiecut thanks. Well in January I gave in and said ok let's do this but not to short. Well she gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever had.Same as Susan I get more compliments than ever before. The squareness of the flattop works well with my features. I still wear it almost one year later and will for a long time to come.
So, I say go for the Square Flattop haircut Pamela99 It's only hair it will grow back if you don't like it. thumbs up for the hub.
I think women with flattop haircut try to get other women to wear them bacause they know something we don't, and they know it's very chic and low maintenance haircut.

My mom was a pioneer for women wearing flattop haircuts.I still remember her come home with it. She had big round glasses and a square haircut, it was shocking at first but she looked super Amazing!!!!!!
I was a senior in high school in 1994.The Susan powter thing was very big(work out lady with the bleach blond flattop).
My mom had her hair in a flattop until my dad left 5 years ago. She never cut it for a year,after that. We think she was depressed over my dad leaving. All of us kids and her friends were saying the flattop is so you and you look so cute with it. I finilly said mom, can I please take you to get your flattop back its the coolest cut for you.She said yes Thank god!!! My mom is one hot women. I mean she wore her flattop for a total, so far 16 years now and still wears it today.I love you mom!! She also found a new man who likes her the way she is. so glad she happy agian. I do think that there are alot of women out there who wear it,and wear it well, after all we do live in a big world. I say, all women over 40 should try it at least once. Pamela99, I stopped by here a week ago to read your hub. You,write so well. I did not post a comment, but this hub was in my head, and last night my husband and I went out to eat at Fridays.(we live in South,FL) It must be the law of attraction because they sat us right next a husband and wife couple and she wore a flat top haircut like LydieRVgirl has but almost black in color, she looked to be 50-60. My husband said to me do you see her hair, (yes) that is so cool. Will you get your haircut like that. Maybe! I just find it interesting, It's like when you buy new dress that no one has,then you see it everywhere after you get it. I guess once you are made aware of something then you see it more. I don't think I ever saw a flat top on a women until I read this hub. Just a crazy thought. I may join the hub network.

Pamela99, I am a female barber, I have been following you on your other hubs. I just found this one. I find this hub very good, as your other ones. What I find interesting is all of the flattop talk. This is not a new haircut for women. I have personally given well over 40 to women of all ages,over my 20 years, they all kept them for a few years,most of them being 45ish and over.I have cut around 17 flattops on women in the last 4 years 9 of them wear them year around,and the other get them for the summertime.(april-sep). I live in NC a summer vacation town. I have had one for 20yrs on and off. I got it in barber school,my mom has had one for 11 year none stop as of her birthday last week and she is 70 now. She has an all white almost military short flattop. I don't think your going to see it in as the new trend but I think when women get it they like it. It's a big step but as a Professional barber you have the right facial features to get one yourself. I hope you try one.
Linda's look a little longer you could try one like that and then go short if you want too.
good thing about Florida is, you can get one anytime of year and not have a cold head. I like you hubs a lot thanks.
kellymom, Thank you for all the information since you are a professional. I do live in northern FL and we get freezing or near freezing temperatures in Jan. and Feb. By mid March spring begins. I would be more inclined to try the style in the spring. I appreciate your comments.
pamela99, I wish I lived close to you. I would be more than happy to add you to my list of female clients who wear flattops. You would be the perfect person, I think you could be a hair model for the flattop. All the women who get flattop saw it on another female and tell them where they got it cut, more so than other hair styles. You are going to have so many women asking you where you get your haircut. You are a very beautiful women. I know you said your husband may not want it the short,I have one lady around 57 or so who has wispy sideburns around her ears and the back of her neck but the rest is a true flattop haircut, it looks sexy on her. I perfer a 1/8" side and back 3/4" on top.

susan, I think pixie cuts are cute for the right face shape. I dyed my hair blonde once but it was to light for me. I am too pale for too light or too dark. I have brown with blonde streaks, which would be gray if left to their own device! I used to use henna rinses on my brown hair when I was young but I never went more red than that. I have had very short cuts when I was in my late 30's and early 40's. Thanks again for your comments.
Pamela99,I know what you mean about the gray hair, I just let it go and buzzed the rest so much easier that way, 10 min at the barbers and $12.I think edgy haircut on older women is the best thing. I love to see a women over 50 to say this me and I'm free agian to live life. I mean the kids are gone,your husband is off golfing or things and here we are reinventing our selves. I say to all women brake out the clippers and buzz away. It changed my life. I love you hubs, Pamela!!!

I would have never thought of one unless I found this hub. So thank you all. I going on thusday for my 3rd trim up. This haircut change my love around 300% the same as you girls I hear.I mother in law saw my hair and wants hers the same way, we are very close, but she lives 3hrs away so a christmas we are going together to get the same flattop I can't wait! I think I'm going to go shorter,I really love very short hair now.It's a shocker to friend and family,but they all have nothing but positive feed back not one bad word. I do get asked a lot where I get it cut all long hair women,I find that interesting.Hi girls!

susan, Honestly I have seen good red dye jobs but sometimes it doesn't come out very well. I had a friend that went red and she had to dye it back to another color because it just didn't come out very well. If you have a good beautician I would ask for advice. It would liven up the holidays.

Pamela99, I just have to tell you this story. As you know I just got my flattop after meeting Susan,Barbergirl28, They are the ones that talked me into it, I do love it.
Well, on thursday I went and got it trimmed up, it is very addicting, I did go a little shorter on top, looks great.
My husband and I have been going to the same restaurant for over 6 years every thusday night. Well the General Manager is a very beautful women around mid 60's with a chin lenght bleach blonde bob cut.She saw my hair 3 weeks ago and could not stop telling how great I looked. at least 5 time for each time of the past 3 week. My husband and I go there this past thurday, and She was standing there as we walk in to the restaurant with a bleach blonde flattop haircut. I thought I was going to die never in my wildest dreams would I have thought she would buzz her hair off. I just thought she like mine,I guess she did. She look so hot!,and the blonde work well it her skin tone. I just thought it was a funny story,Susan was right once again about other would get the same cut after seeing it. Hi,Pamela99 I see there are a few women with flattop haircyts around here. My wife wears one now for almost 5 years. I am in support of it 100% she looks years younger with very short hair. One of the ladies at the bingo hall had one and over a few months, She friend with my wife next thing, I know she's off to the barber with her and come back with an almost bald head. I do not know what it is about a flattop on an loder women but it looks awesome. I am so happy she did it. Good luck if you try it,Looks like it would look good on you.

Pamela99, Cool hub! I was cruising the internet, and I found you. I like, what you did to the place. I have been looking for flattop picture of women in the fifties. I live in Orlando, Fl. I was at Walmart the other day and saw a women with a very short buzzed flattop hair. Now I want one and I have been looking for pictures of one, I am trying to picture what I would look like with a square haircut. I tought the women I saw was just amazing looking. I see you are getting a flattop too? Is that why all the women are here talking about. If you do that would be so cool. I am so getting one this year. I think I may join hubs.

Pamela, I am 56 years old and a male barber in North East Pennsylvania. I have cut hair for over 30 years in NYC and PA. I have cut more flattop on men and women than I can count. Women maybe 200 or so,when I was in Nyc in the 80's I cut one a week, if not more on females. Now in the past 4-5 summers 30-40 women I have given flattops to, age 30's to my oldest was 78 a lot of babyboomers are getting them, they are tryin to look as young as they feel. I have given my wife at least 50 flattops over the years, she has one now even with the cold she want to keep it . I met her at my shop when she was having her flattop trimmed up,so she had one before I met her. I think you have the best features for a flattop hair cut and I have cut a lot of them. If I we'er you go for a classic flattop 1/4"-3/8 of inch sides and back and 1/2" top square.You would look so beautiful!! GOOD LUCK,

Pamela99, After reading about all of these women, I want a flat top haircut, so bad.These women take my breath away. My husband said if I ever cut my hair short he's leaving, it's not his hair. The funny thing is he is going bald but that's ok, I like a man with hair too. I say what's the differance, he going bald or I cut my hair short. I am getting a flat top hair before the next three months are up. I promse you that and I will write a hub and post the pictures like you girls do. Pamela99,My husband was not a fan of the idea, He said there was no way he was going to like it. My kids think mom is cool,lol. All of my family and friend say I look younger and I'm so cool with it,much better than my old hair. I had one lady copy the same cut,I must look good if some else, wants to wear the same flattop. So, back to my husband he said it's your hair, But I will not like it! Well, it took him about 5 mins and now he loves it. He tells me I need a trim ever week or so.Some men do not like change. I am so happy my husband likes it now, makes me like it even more,and I do love it! One thing, you have to go to a barbershop, hair stylist just can't cut a flattop to look good. I saw my first flat top in Jacksonville at a meeting yesterday but her hair really wasn't cut very well like yours is but I also saw a women on a TV show. I think it was one of those shows like Covert Affairs, but this gal was probably in her late 30's and she looked terrific. I'm glad you business is going well. Pamela, I am so glad to see you are starting to see some flattops. A lot of women go to salons to get their flattops, not good. You realy have to go to a barbershop to get a square flattop like mine, I think if a female is going to get a flattop it looks better square. I had to take my mom for her medical check up today, all of the nurses at the hospital were going cazy over the flattop haircut my mom and I wear. We had about 15 female nurses and doctors telling us how much they love our haircuts. I think I may have more clients, 8 of them ask for my card, they said the flattop hair would work perfect for the long shifts they have to work. One nurse said she was coming to my shop tomorrow for a flattop we will see. I can wait to see your flattop if you try one. I saw a women at the mall today with a short flattop haircut, she smiled and said nice haircut.(we laughed) her huband said to my husband your wife has one too how many women are getting them. She just got hers in aug and her hubby doesn't like it that much but it's growing on him. no pun intended. Lol She said she is keeping it for a long time to come. She look super with it.

pamela, I did it! I could not wait until summer. I went today and got my flattop shaved bald side,and back just like Susan54's flattop and I love it! So much, my husband thinks I'm nuts but likes touching the bald parts,Lol I never thought in a million years I would have hair this short and like it so much. I told my husband he has to shave the side and back for me with his razor so when the family comes over on christmas day they will have something to talk about. I can't wait to see their faces! Pamela, Well I saw my mother in law today, she like it better shaved, then before.She even said keep it shave it looks so good on me.She was asking a lot of questions,do older women wear flattops, how do I liked it, how does it feel,she must have touched it 10 times, she really gave it a good inspection.lol She has not said it yet,but I think she thinking of her own flattop.The big clue was she said do I have the right face shape for one. Pamela,HAPPY HOLIDAYS! I think your right about more women changing. I just cut my moms flattop almost bald for her and she is 71 years old. In the last 5 week I have add 3 more women to my flattop client list,one was a young nurse.One lady is my moms friend, she is 67 years old. The other just walked in off the street she saw my sign women flattops $15.00 with picture of a womens flattop.I have 15 active ones now. I have seen a few out shopping for Christmas this year.
Pamela, My wife and I saw a flattop on a women at our local grocery store a few days ago she had to be our age mid to late 60's. Boy, did she look good! I been trying to get my wife to get one ever since. I'm a long hair kind of guy too there is something different with these flattops women are getting make my heart skip a beat. Pamela, I found a lady on TV with a flattop like mine GAC country tv (Born to drive) it's about a family race car team show and the wife has a flattop she said on the show how much she likes it. She looks great with it. They are not to far from me in NC. What are the odds of that. Mom loves the new bald flattop she even got a date at my shop with it,LOl. Pamela,The flattop was a hit from men and women, the best haircut I have ever had they all say.I asked them to vote long hair before or flattop or shave flattop 90% said shaved flattop looks better on me. We had over 30 people over to the house this weekend. All the women, friends and family over 40 are talking about flattops now. I found out my mother in law does want a flattop same as mine,but my father in law is not too happy,but he did say she could try it. I am taking her with me on thursday. We are so much a like now we will even look a like so cool for me,I think it will be a girls day out for a long time to come for us flattop and our nails done. I think by summer a lot more women around here will be sporting flattops. I hope you and your family had a great holiday!

Pamela99, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I was drinking some wine with my neighbor lady last night, when she said I really love your flattop haircut. Her husband left her about 6 months ago. 3 kids and now single, and now she wants to change her look. She was like I have no one to tell me I can't do it. After a long night of girl talk and wine. I told if she was ready for a buzz come over on saturday around noon (today), and I will give her a military flattop if she really wants one. She did, and she is one hot mama!! She knows she is not a size 3, but that is whats hot! she is a full figure women like most of the women out there with kids. She came over with shoulder length hair and left with a shave flattop so cute on her. We are going to have fun out at the bars tonight,men look out the single flattop girls are here. Pamela99, Despite the COLD WEATHER! Mom and I went to the barber shop to have our flattops buzzed up. Rob the barber does such a wonderful job. Mom and I had told him how much we like the shave side and back, that's when he suggested to us to get it straight razored smooth. I was on the fence about it mom was like less do it. We as a team did it, Wow!!!! We agreed, we have never felt anything so sensual in our live. Now, I know why Susan54 and the other girls have this done. I thought my heart was going to explode!!! I never knew there was so many feel good nerves under all our hair, the head is my new hot spot.( I had to my husband for later)Lol.
Mom and I were having a very good time all day. Until, I looked over and she was in tears. I thouhgt,she was having second thoughts about such an extreme haircut. She said no, they're tears of joy, and feeling alive again. She has been helping take care of her parnets fron over 8 years now. She put her life on hold and stop being who she was inside this is her first major change in many years, and in 2012 I am helping her take her life back.
Now I know why Kellymom said in her hub this haircut can change your life,it does. I don't think just a regular haircut can do this much awakening to one soul. I thank you girls for giving me the advise to get a flattop because now it changed my moms life also. I too am a flattop spokes person for life now. I will keep you up dated,bye.

Hi Kelly, It is good to hear from you. I have written a few new hubs but I am sick and have a resistant bacteria in my lungs. I have a picc line and just finished 2 weeks of IV medicine but it's still not gone. The infectious disease doctor is trying to get approval for a different aerosol antibiotic. I am working on keeping a good attitude!

Hi Pamela, I was down your way for the daytona 500. I saw a few flat top haircut at the race. Have you seen any around your area. I cut 2 more flat tops from last post both over 65 the look great. I hope your doing well,bye Kelly
kellymon, We really wanted to go to the Daytona 500, but I am still having health problems, so we watched in on TV. My husband loves racing. I haven't see any haircuts in Jacksonville but I saw a news woman on TV with a very short haircut. It wasn't quite a flat top but she looked good. I think summer will cause more women to get the cuts as taking care of your hair in the summer with the heat and humidity is a pain. Thanks for writing.

My husband and I like several drivers and I know them better my name than number. Dale Earnhart Jr., Tony Strewart are 2 favorites. I like to watch Danica also as I like her and I am all for having a woman compete with the men.

I also saw a women out last night with a flat top just like mine. I told her how great she looked she said she just got it last month, I told her she should keep it. kellymom, It is good to hear from your again. It sounds like you are seeing more flat top cuts all the time. I am better but still short of breath with much activity. I was at the grocery store and the 2 women working there had flat tops. They looked great! One lady was 55 years old, and I suspect the other might have been a little older. They both loved the haircuts because they were so simple to maintain. This is the first I've seen in my area and wanted to let you know. Maybe we will be seeing more this year as summer approaches. Pamela99, That is so cool! that you are starting to see some flat tops. Thank you for the up date. I just got back from a Womens Christian retreat for a week, there had too have been 250 women there. I saw around 25 or so flat tops. I have become friends with 3 of the flat top women now, one thigs for sure is we all have the same view on life,lol. I have 6 women at my church wearing a flat top now, Dee one of the women from my church told me to bring my clippers with me, she wanted her flat top buzz up while we were at the retreat. Good thing, I brought them I flat toped 3 more women in our cabin, I gave the lady Heather a full military flat top she is 66 years old,loos very sexy! She had a dark brown Bob cut before.She had me reshave her the last day there, I told her to keep me posted on her Hubby's reaction!!,lol So, 6 out of the 12 in our cabin all had flat tops. Karen, My new friend is from Atlanta,GA. who wears a flat top (for over 3 years now) she is 65 years old, She found a study online that listed the 10 things that Women with flat top haircuts have in commen( 93% of them). I think you will like # 10,LOL

She does look great! You should write a hub about this study. It is very interesting as these are confident women, plus all the over attributes. I fit the criteria, but still have the husband issue. I'll bet the woman's conference was great. I am glad you are keeping me updated.
Hi Pamela, I think when, I first met you, I said you were the prefect fit for a flat top. I guess you are! They is why I like your piont of view so much. I think the same way as you do,lol. I wish I know who did the study, because looking back I see all of the items 1-10 in the women I have been flat toping for the last 20 years.
Did you ask the 2 women at the grocery store if the get their flat tops cut a the barber shop? are the sqaure like ones I cut?

Kelly, I didn't ask the women at the grocery store where they got their hair cut. One woman has a little bit more hair on top in the front that had a wave but the rest of her hair was exactly like a flat top and the other woman had a regular flat top. I'll ask if I see them again. I know we would be friend if we lived closer together, rather than just internet friends. I enjoy hearing from you. Pam
Pamela, I just got an e-mail from Heather, the 66 year old lady I gave a military flat top too at the retreat. It's been 6 days she said her hubby almost died and said he would never approve of such a buzzcut if she ask him, but now that he seen it,he likes it.She went yesterday with her hubby to his barber and had it cut like Susan54's remember her bald side and back well Heather even went for the landing strip on top(bald strip like the military men get)They love it,she said he like to kiss the shave strip on top of her head when she is sitting down on her reading chair(so cute) I have done several of them myself on women.I love it!! I found out a little more about the study, It was done I think by a hair clipper manufacturer. I know that they had 5,000 women fill out a survey at select barber shops in the whole US after getting their flat top done. Who are they,How short they like their flat top,age and so on.The women got a free flat top trim up for next time for filling out the survey. I do not know if it is copy writed. I need to find out who wrote it. My friend who showed it to me, also said that 70% of the women over 55 in the survey like their flat top very short,and square. Basically a military flat top haircut. You know what's funny most of the older women I cut say the same thing, they are like make as short as you can but still be a flat top,lol
If you find out who cuts the regular flat top lady. You can go there for a trim and talk to them about what they think about you getting a flat top haircut. make it alittle more easy on the nerves,lol. Throw away the brush and hair dryer and go get a military flat top that way you will match the survey 100% ,lol just like me. I will see you later friend bye,Kelly

Pamela99, How have you been doing? I have a lot of hubs of yours I need to read! My husbandand, and I have been RVing this past winter.We just got back to florida, the other day. I thought it was time to check in with all my girls,LOL. I know you really like the flat top look did you end up getting a flat top haircut yet. I had mine cut last week it was getting way to long for me,anything over a 3/8" a inch on top has to get buzzed(LOL). My new picture is when it was long on top,as you can see it is way to long. I did see a few flat tops in our travels, my friend still wears a flat top also.
Have you seen any flat tops or did any of your friend get one the past few month. I will spend the next few days reading your hubs, God Bless Lydie.

Lydia, It is good to hear from you. I imagine you enjoyed your travels. No, I haven't gotten a flat top. I talked with my husband again and he really objects, which he seldom does about anything I want. He had a stroke 6 years ago and his health is deteriorating right now, so no cut for me at this time, but I sure admire yours and the other ladies I've seen. I'm glad you're back in FL and I appreciate your comments.

I really loved this hub. I've seen some of these styles and colors in magazines but can't say I have in person. I imagine they are more popular in larger metropolitan cities. Great hub, I'm liking the ombre technique.
