Cheese Cake Pie Recipe
There are not many deserts that are better than cheese cake and this particular one is an easy recipe. Around 1959 or 1960, we had a neighbor from Australia named Mrs. Slack. We loved her, as she was so sweet to all the children and she cooked wonderful things. This recipe is one we received from her and it has been a family favorite for decades. It tastes like a cheese cake but it is really a Cheese Pie. The first part of the recipe is for the graham cracker crust. I am too lazy for that. I buy them ready made. The rest of the recipe is simple and fast.
Crust:
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1 stick margarine
- 2 tbsp. Sugar
Filling:
- 12 oz cream cheese (let soften at room temp.)
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
Mix filling ingredients until smooth; pour into the pie crust. Bake at 325° for 20 minutes.
Remove pie from oven & let cool, then spread on topping.
Topping:
- 3/4 pint thick sour cream
- 2 tbsp. Sugar
- 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
Return to oven for 5-10 minutes, let cool. Then refrigerate pie overnight
This recipe is so delicious. It was made for my birthday yesterday, rather than a traditional cake. You can also top it with cherry pie filling or any fruit you enjoy. Just leave the topping off and add the fruit. I enjoy the flavor so much, plain works fine for me. I hope if you are a cheese cake lover you will this easy recipe and give it a try it, because it is worth the effort.

Pamela,
The recipe looks yummy. I can't believe the coincidence I used to have my mother make lemon maringue pie for my birthday pie.
Tom, That is another on of my favorites. Thanks for the comment.
This recipe looks really good! I like cheesecake a lot, but limit myself because when I first had cheesecake I was eating it everyday for about two weeks! I know, LOL, not so good. Soooooooooo, maybe around Easter or Thanksgiving or even Christmas, I'll try this one (never made one homemade).
I just don't want to become addicted again. Just reading about the graham cracker crust actually causes me to taste the flavor in my taste buds. Scary huh, LOL. Thanks for the rrecipe.
Support Med, I only make about 2 of these a year and there are others around to help me eat them because when you are trying to eat healthy with low calories it is too hard when it is so readily available. This is a very easy recipe, so when you do try it I doubt you'll have any problem with the baking.
I love cheesecakes. Thank you for the recipe.
Helo, You are very welcome.

You gain weight just looking at the picture. It looks delicious and I am like you, I think I would like it without the fruit. Love your recipes, let's have some more.

Roberta and Janny, Thanks for your comments. I hope you enjoy this excellent desert.
We make cheesecake for birthday cakes. This will be a great new recipe.
Candles work just as well in cheesecake as they do in birthday cakes. The difference is, my family eat the cheesecake. With birthday cake and ice cream, especially the children, we just end up wasting it.
Hanna, I hope your family likes it as much as we do. Cheesecake doesn't last long at our house either.
i'm definitely going to have to try this one out.
I hope you enjoy it as much as our family does. Thanks for stopping by my hub.
One of my all time faves, pal!
